Student Workplace Projects
Business Practicum
Business Practicum is a unique final-year subject within the University of Melbourne’s Bachelor of Commerce program. The Business Practicum offers our highest achieving students the opportunity to apply their university learning in a real business environment, engaging with a business challenge of genuine strategic importance to a host organisation. In each instance a student team works on a host-specified project to produce a professional-standard report analysing the business challenge and proposing courses of action for the organisation’s consideration.
To become a host organisation, or to find out more about this exciting program and how it can benefit your organisation, please contact Capstone Studies Coordinator at ecom-capstonestudies@unimelb.edu.au

Successful pilot programs were run in 2008 to Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur involving a range of companies including an investment bank, insurance firm, engineering firm and HR consultancy. Graduate students, in groups of up to 4, are assigned a company, given a project brief, work together as a team and then present their project findings and recommendations to senior company representatives on the final day of the project. The Melbourne Graduate School of Management attracts very able young people into its graduate programs. Our Masters students will be able to provide your company with insights into the latest developments in marketing, management, business and IT, accounting practices, business analysis and financial management.
