Mission
Australian business are in an envious position, with access to one of the most diverse labour forces in the world. For employee diversity to be a source of economic benefit, diversity management must be an integral part of an organisation’s business planning process.
The Programme for the Practice of Diversity Management was a collaborative arrangement between the Federal Government's Department of Immigration and Multicultural Affairs (DIMA) and the Australian Centre for International Business (ACIB). The Programme was dedicated to meeting the practical needs of business and promoting the productivity and performance improvements achievable through diversity management.
Academic research was undertaking to establish the 'state of play' in the Australian and global arena. Business models and diversity toolkits were developed in consultation with a number of leading Australian companies.
