Sessional Lecturers
Background
The Department of Management and Marketing is recruiting sessional lecturers to subject coordinate undergraduate and postgraduate subjects to be offered in 2010. Our subjects range across the fields of general management, HRM, International Business, Marketing, Operations Management and Organisational Studies. A list of 2009 subjects is available at Subject Information. Many of these subjects will also be taught in 2010 but there will be some updates to this list. Subjects listed on the Sessional Lecturer database refer to 2010.
Responsibilities
As a subject coordinator your responsibilities for undergraduate subjects are to prepare and deliver twelve two hour lecturers and eleven fifty minutes tutorials per semester. For postgraduate subjects your responsibilities are to prepare and deliver twelve three hour lectures per semester. You will be available for two consultation hours per week, for each of your subjects. For undergraduate subjects you will contribute to the marking of the assessments of those students that you tutor and enter marks on to the master spreadsheet for each of your subjects. For postgraduate subjects you will mark the assessments of those students that you lecture with additional help being available for classes with larger enrolments.
Candidates
Applicants must be able to demonstrate appropriate academic background: normally we would expect postgraduate qualifications or considerable progress towards a postgraduate qualification in commerce, business or an appropriate field. Applicants must demonstrate good organisation, communication and presentation skills.
Duration
Sessional lecturers may be required for the following periods:
Summer Semester: Monday 4 January - Friday 19 February 2010
Semester 1: Monday 1 March - Friday 28 May 2010
Semester 2: Monday 26 July - Friday 29 October 2010
Pay
