Organisation Studies (Managing Business and Organisation)

The way in which business and organisations are managed is the primary interest of researchers in the Organisation Studies Area. Drawing on a range of disciplinary backgrounds, including management, psychology, sociology and political science, this area covers the ‘micro-level’ issues revolving around managing individuals and teams through to ‘macro-level’ behaviours of organisations in relation to their social and economic contexts. In this way researchers are able to explore the relationships that organisations develop with their employees, their clients, and with the broader society more generally.

The Organisation Studies area is a partner in ICRODSC, the Internationational Centre for Research in Organisational Discourse and Strategic Change. Visit the ICRODSC website for more information.

The Head of this area is Professor Cynthia Hardy.

The Organisation Studies area teaches Undergraduate subjects under the heading Managing Business and Organisation. View the list of subjects offered in this area.
