Centres
The Department hosts four Research Centres, which attract leading practitioners and researchers from industry, government and academia:
- Melbourne Centre for International Business
- Centre for Human Resource Management
- International Centre for Research on Organisational Discourse, Strategy and Change
- Foundation for Sustainable Economic Development
Melbourne Centre for International Business
The Melbourne Centre for International Business is eclectic in its interdisciplinary areas, studying the international aspects of strategy and management, human resource management, industrial relations, corporate history, accounting, finance, information systems, organisational behaviour and marketing.
Centre for Human Resource Management
The CHRM operates as a bridge between the academic and business communities, facilitating research on employment issues and disseminating research findings to impact practice and policy. Centre members regularly engage in collaborative work with industry partners to address problems of mutual interest.
International Centre for Research on Organisational Discourse, Strategy and Change
ICRODSC links international researchers who share an interest in developing and applying discourse methods in the study of organisations. It brings together researchers from different disciplines to provide a critical mass in research expertise.
Foundation for Sustainable Economic Development
The Foundation was established in 2000 with a mission to create and disseminate research to increase the awareness and effectiveness of management practices that deliver better organisational performance and less wasteful products and processes.
The Foundation has produced a number of research papers and commissioned reports, including The Collaborative Games in 2001.
